This is the second painting of draft horses. The first painting was of horses used by the Amish while this team is one I saw and photographed at Mackinac Island in north Michigan. The team was used to draw a carriage for rides from the Grand Hotel to the downtown area and for tours around the Island. When my wife and I went there we took our bikes with us and rode around the entire island so we didn’t use the carriage but enjoyed the pageantry of these beautiful horses.
